How can I tell what number of backwash plug I need?
1 . Your existing Backwash Plug should have a small number on it. The number matches the diameter ( in inches ) of your resin tank. The most common is 9 ( for 9" x 48" tanks ). Thus the part number would be 25F-9.

Hi, my backwash knob has a number 10 on it. My tank physically measures 26.5" with caluculates to 8.435". The advice is to round down. What size tank do I have so i can order the appropriate Autotrol K-5 upper valve body
and timer assembly replacement
Some Autotrol Valves will have a larger number Backwash Plug IF inside the Resin Tank a "Turbulator" is used instead of the normal single pipe and bottom "basket" distributor. When ordering the K-5 Upper Valve Body replacement, select the same size as your current valve. So, if it has # 10, you would select 10 inch diameter, even though your tank diameter is actually 8 inches.
